Do you read magazines in the grocery store checkout line but can’t bring yourself to actually buy them? We are so excited to tell you that you can now check out magazines for free from Tennessee READS! As of this week, 50 popular magazines spanning a variety of topics are now available for digital checkout, including titles such as Newsweek, US Weekly, Men’s Health, Taste of Home, Forbes, and Harper’s BAZAAR. For each magazine, any issues published after July 1, 2019 will be available.
The magazine collection can be browsed and titles checked out through both the OverDrive and Libby apps, as well as from your computer or mobile device on the Tennessee READS website. Magazines are unlimited and simultaneous use, and you will never have to place a hold on them! The loan period for magazines is three weeks; at the end of the loan period the issue will disappear from your account, but you can check it out again immediately if you need more time. The checkout limit in Overdrive and Libby is 15 items, which now also includes magazines. So, for example, if you check out 12 magazines you will have three slots left for ebooks, audiobooks, or videos.
