NPR released its book concierge on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The concierge aggregates hundreds of recommendations from NPR staffers and critics, literary prize winners, and more. The recommendations are all tagged with specific labels—like book club ideas, young adult, staff picks, and more—that work as a matrix allowing you to pick and choose the perfect combination you want to read. New fiction and non-fiction discoveries are just a few short clicks away.
This year’s concierge also includes a link with each title allowing you to see if JCPL or another OWL library has the title you want in our collection. Select the ‘Find at your library’ option and the concierge will direct to OCLC WorldCat, the world’s largest library catalog. Be sure to check READS as well if you’re interested in an eBook or Audiobook that you can download any time, any where.
Past years of NPR’s book concierge can be found at npr.org/bestbooks. You can also listen to Morning Edition’s announcement of this year’s concierge and some highlighted titles at ‘The 2017 NPR Book Concierge: Get Your Read On’.
