Next week’s Preschool Storytime and Book Worms program will both feature the children’s book Snoozefest by Samantha Berger. Snoozefest is an endearing and hilarious story about a young sloth named Snuggleford Cuddlebun who goes to an arena festival celebrating all things sleep-related. The festival is attended by sleepers and nappers of all types, and includes music, food, and even a pajama fashion show! In honor of the story, children are encouraged to wear their pajamas at both Preschool Storytime and Book Worms. After reading the book at each event, attendees will march around the library in a pajamas parade.
Book Worms is on Thursday, January 3 from 4-4:45 p.m. and is intended for children ages 5-8. Registration is required and can be completed here. Jennifer Johnson, JCPL’s school age program coordinator, says she chose Snoozefest as January’s Book Worms read because January 3 is widely celebrated as Festival of Sleep Day.
Snoozefest will also be read and followed by a pajamas parade during our preschool storytimes from 11-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2 and Thursday, January 3.
