Book Conversation Group at Johnson City Brewing Company

Have you read a book you want to talk about with fellow bibliophiles? Do you love chatting with friends over a pint? Then your Library’s monthly discussion group, Bring Your Own Book, is the place for you!

What is Bring Your Own Book?

Bring Your Own Book is a partnership between your Library and Johnson City Brewing Company (JCBC). It meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at JCBC’s Boones Creek location (2362 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City).

The next Bring Your Own Book is on Thursday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Some months Bring Your Own Book has a theme or literary focus, and sometimes they are more open-ended. July’s conversation will be open-ended—meaning, bring any book you want to talk about!

JCPL Adult Services Manager Lisa Krekelberg hopes people will enjoy talking with fellow book lovers at Bring Your Own Book. “I know I often get to the end of a good book and can’t wait to share it with others or find someone else who’s read it,” she says. She also hopes people walk away with new reading suggestions.

Where Does the Group Meet?

Bring Your Own Book meets at JCBC’s location in Boones Creek (2362 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City). Lisa says, “We’re excited to work with JCBC to offer a program for people on the north end of Johnson City.”

“We’ve partnered with JCBC at their downtown location in the past and it’s been great,” Lisa explains. “But people can’t always make it downtown to attend events. We like meeting at JCBC’s beautiful facility in Boones Creek for this unique program because we can accommodate people who live farther out.”

No registration is required for Bring Your Own Book, all you have to do is show up! Call Adult Services at (423) 434-4454 for more information.
