As we move into a new season and a new school year, your Library has a new schedule of weekly storytimes for preschool kids from birth-age 5. Music Morning
Join us on the second and fourth Mondays every month for Music Morning in the Jones Meeting Room. You can attend at 10 or 11 a.m. Music Morning consists of music and movement for children ages birth-5 years and their caregivers. Come ready to dance, sing, and enjoy quality time with your little one! Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Bilingual Storytime
Bilingual Storytime is for families with kids ages 2-6. It meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. from September 12-October 24 in the Storytime Room. We enjoy stories and songs in both English and Spanish, then do a simple craft following storytime. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Toddler Time
We offer Toddler Time for children ages 19-36 months and their caregivers every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. In Toddler Time we read books, sing songs, and do activities in the Storytime Room. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis; get a ticket at the Children’s Desk when you arrive. Tuesday and Wednesday sessions feature the same content, so choose one day a week to attend.
Preschool Storytime
Preschool Storytime meets every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Storytime Room. We read books, sing songs, and do activities with kids ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Tuesday and Wednesday sessions feature the same content, so choose one day a week to attend. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis; get a ticket at the Children’s Desk when you arrive.
Mother Goose
Mother Goose Storytime is a 4-week program featuring books, music, and rhymes for babies 18 months and younger and their caregivers. We meet every Wednesday and Thursday in September at 9:30 a.m. in the Jones Meeting Room. Registration is closed for September’s Mother Goose sessions, but beginning on September 21 you can sign up for our next Mother Goose series in November.
Please call (423) 434-4458 (beginning September 21) to sign up for November. When you register, you’ll choose Wednesday or Thursday and you’ll sign up for all four weeks in November.
Storytime in the Park
Storytime in the Park is our outdoor storytime option. It is held every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Natural Adventure Area across the street from the Library. Please be aware that this program often features the same stories and songs as the week’s Preschool Storytime (on Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Because Storytime in the Park is outdoors and weather dependent, we post a weather update on our Facebook page every Thursday after 9:30 a.m.
Family Storytime
Family Storytime meets on the first Saturday of every month at 11 a.m. and on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Family Storytime is open to all kids ages 2-6 and their caregivers, but it is especially for working parents who aren’t able to bring their kids to weekday morning storytimes. Family Storytime features books, songs, and activities and meets in the Storytime Room. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis; get a ticket at the Children’s Desk when you arrive.
