Find a new tune from the other side of the world with Bright Star Theatre! Bright Star Theatre will give two different shows on Thursday, July 5. Old MacDonald’s Sing-Along Farm at 11:00 AM and American Tales & Tunes at 1:30 PM in the Jones Meeting Room. These programs are free and open to the public, and appropriate for all ages. Old MacDonald’s Sing-Along Farm is targeted to young children (2nd grade & younger), and American Tales & Tunes is targeted to older children (3rd grade & up).
For the comfort and safety of all, space is limited to 150 for each show. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to each show with first come, first seated.
Old MacDonald’s Sing-Along Farm–11:00 AM Thursday, July 5
Everybody on the farm has a favorite song! Join Old Farmer MacDonald, and a cast of characters from the farm for a fun and energetic singalong that brings everyone together. This fun interactive show has a strong character message of sharing and caring for others.
American Tales & Tunes–1:30 PM Thursday, July 5
Folk songs and folktales from across America come to life in this music-filled adventure. This performance seamlessly combines Appalachian Jack Tales with New England fishing stories and folk songs like “Shenandoah” and “Shady Grove.”
Bright Star Theatre is presented as part of the “Libraries Rock!” Summer Reading Program and is sponsored by the Johnson City Monday Club and the Friends of the Johnson City Public Library. Support materials are provided by the Tennessee State Library and Archives. The Summer Reading Program will continue through July 20th, and children are encouraged to register at the library or online at www.jcpl.org.
