Are you familiar with Amazon Smile? This is one of Amazon’s primary philanthropic endeavors and gives every Amazon user a chance to designate .5% of the cost of every item they purchase towards a charity of their choosing. All items available on Amazon.com are available on Amazon Smile as well, and at the same price. The Johnson City Public Library has been affiliated with Amazon Smile for years now, and we thank all of you who have designated us as your charity! Today we wanted to tell you about a special offer Amazon Smile has through the end of March. From now until midnight, March 31, Amazon will triple the donation they make for any first time purchase through Amazon Smile.
Cathy Griffith, Assistant Director at the Johnson City Public Library, says that the library has received only a small amount through Amazon Smile so far. “I hope that as more people become aware of the program, the donations we get will really go up.” Robin Westphal, Director of the Johnson City Public Library, emphasizes how convenient the program is as well. “Amazon’s really made it easy to make your everyday purchases and help the library at the same time.”
