Food for Fines: Second Harvest Food Bank

You probably know by now that we’re running Food for Fines through the end of the month: donate 1 can of food or a box of non-perishable food and we’ll take $1.00 off your library fines. But we want to make sure you know that we’re not doing this alone! One of our partners receiving donated food items is Second Harvest Food Bank, who has been working for over 30 years to end hunger in our region.

In the last fiscal year, Second Harvest Food Bank provided 9.2 million meals (that’s 11 million pounds of food!) to people in need, right here in the tri-cities area. They provide food for seniors, families, and directly to children via their Food for Kids Backpack program, Kids Cafe, Summer Food Service program, mobile food pantry, and more.
