Own Voices

The Own Voices Winter Reading Challenge for all ages runs from Monday, January 11 to Sunday, February 28. The term “Own Voices” refers to books in which the author and the story’s main character share ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, or other aspects of their identity. Your Library’s goal in focusing on Own Voices is to highlight diverse stories written by diverse authors, and to encourage people to discover books that broaden and deepen their understanding of others’ experiences.

You can read more about the Own Voices Winter Reading Challenge here.
