The battle for the golden microphone is on. Are you game? Strut your stuff and win the prize at our teen lip sync battle July 17 at 6 PM! Katelyn Wolfe, teen librarian at JCPL says this program is perfect for anyone who enjoys singing into a hair brush. “I love the lip sync battles on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, so I thought it would be fun to give it a try here.” Take the plunge and join in on July 17 at 6 PM! Teens 12-18 should register for this free event here.
Katelyn adds that the Teen Advisory Board was “really excited” about this program when she was planning summer reading events. “They loved the performance aspect of a lip sync battle. It’s kind of unusual for libraries to have events like this, so we wanted to give it a try!”
Feeling a little shy? No problem! You can also register to watch and not perform at all. If you do want to perform, you’ll need to fill out a form listing who is part of your group, what song you’re performing, and if you’re using any props. You can print this form here, or pick one up at the Information Desk on the Second Floor. The form is also posted on the Teen Summer Reading Portal home page.
