The Johnson City Public Library Board of Directors establishes policies that govern the operation of Johnson City Public Library. Board meetings are held at the Library on the third Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. The meetings are always open to the public.

Statement Regarding Collection Review
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett has requested that public libraries participating in the Regional Library System review their juvenile collections for age appropriateness. Johnson City Public Library is committed to complying with all applicable laws as outlined in our Collection Development Policy. The Library’s staff and Board of Directors are currently conducting this review of the Library’s juvenile materials, which will be completed by the State’s deadline of January 19, 2026.
