Volunteer

Your Library depends on volunteer help from people like you! Volunteering at the Library gives you an opportunity to make your community better. It can also fulfill college or court-appointed service hours.

Teen Volunteers

Johnson City Public Library offers volunteer opportunities for ages 12-18. Volunteering can fulfill service requirements and boost your resumé! You’ll also learn new skills and make your Library and community better.

Teen volunteers work on projects in Teen Services, Adult Services, and the Children’s Library.

We also have a Teen Advisory Board (TAB) for ages 12-18. TAB meets once a month to make decisions about the Library’s teen programs, services, and collection. If you’re interested in having your voice heard, call (423) 434-4349 to learn more and join TAB!

Download the teen volunteer application and return it to the second-floor Information Desk to become a teen volunteer. Then Library staff will contact you to schedule an orientation session.

Volunteer opportunities may include working in a library department, helping at library events, taking the joy of books to homebound patrons, and reading to children in daycare settings.
